Day 274: Your First Love (Day 4)

My First Love

When I first saw this on the list, I wasn't looking forward to writing this. I'm still not looking forward to this, but it's better than saying a cheesy actor that I adored as a kid (Oh dreamy Leo), or a childhood crush or even simply just passing the topic by. I want to write about my first love, and by first love I don't necessarily mean him, but the experience in itself, because even though it is a tender topic, it is real and it is me. My perspective on my first love is always evolving, always changing and I know that in a few years I will feel differently about it than I do now. So as of now, I'll share to you how I viewed my first love.

Now, going back a few years I was obviously different than I am now. I was a "closet" hopeless romantic, an idealist. I tried so hard not to be that girl, who day dreamed of her knight and shining armour to rescue her, who believed that some people were meant to be and happily ever afters did exist.
When I first saw him my sophomore year, in my heart, I knew deep down he'd be my first love, and a few years later he was.
I know now that we weren't meant to be, because I was so naive and such a hopeless romantic I had thought it was fate. It was so odd for me to have had a crush on a stranger for so long and then in a matter of moments compared to the years I crushed, we were together. WE were together. How many days and nights had I dreamt this? How many times did I wish that one day maybe we could be? And then one day it happened, I pinched myself to see if it were true that my wish finally came true and sure enough I was finally with him.

Falling in love for the very first time is something in my opinion that can't be explained. Maybe because there is too many emotions pilling up at once, or maybe because things all seem to be a blur, I don't really know the answer but I can't explain it. Even though I know some people think I was crazy for falling for him, I knew that if I never had had him I wouldn't have experienced such a deep thing called love and I wouldn't be who I am today.

Do I still love him? Absolutely not. Would I change anything about my experience? Absolutely not.

I grinned until my cheeks hurt.
My stomach was always full of butterflies.
My heart was happy and full.
I felt more alive than I had ever felt.

I finally realized that there may not be a happily ever after, but there are always happy memories that last forever no matter where those two individuals end up.

Day 273: Your Parents (Day 3)

I've been sitting here, staring at my blank computer screen for the last 15 minutes trying to think of todays topic.
About my parents.
I've been thinking, do I write a story about them? Lay down the facts? Describe them? What!?
'Your Parents' is a very broad topic.

I can only think of describing to you, what they mean to me.

A laugh from my mother is probably one of the greatest things I love about her. Now, I'm sure you're probably thinking, a laugh? Really? Out of so many things you pick a laugh? (Mom, I'm sure you are wondering this too.) Well, let me explain to you why her laugh is one of my favorite things. My mom has always been fun. She likes to go out and have a blast, or stay in and have company over, she's all about living her life to the fullest. She also has many different laughs that go along with whatever she is doing, but my absolute favorite laugh is when it is just her and me and we'll have our own little inside joke. It's a moment between her and I that I will never forget. Her laugh is so genuine, and her eyes are so bright, and she is just so full of life that it makes me feel so warm and happy inside. She looks absolutely beautiful and so happy. Those moments, that laugh gives me the best memories that anyone could ever ask for because when she laughs, and smiles and I see that twinkle in her eye, I know my mother loves me more than anything, and that is one of the best feelings ever.

My dad is the type of man that no matter what mood you are in when you first talk to him, you will end up either laughing your butt of or feeling at ease. No matter who I meet, there will always be a story that I need to share with someone about my dad because to me he's one of the coolest people I know. Well, maybe not "cool" ;) but he is someone who I look up to. Not that I don't look up to my mother, because I do, but with my dad it's different. His personality is something I wish to have. He's calm in almost every situation, he's so generous, so compassionate about things that should matter. He takes the Bob Hessel gene when it comes to being an honest man. He's a big kid, who always makes me laugh no matter how dumb he looks. And like my grandmother Polly, he has a huge heart, and through his jokes and his stern honesty he does what he can to give me the best life possible.

I think I lucked out having such great parents!

Day 272: Story behind my Blog Name (Day 2)

Well, this blog challenge is going to be short. If you read the title of my blog, "In the Land of Kate" it looks a bit obvious. My name is Katelan and if you've read my first one you know that it sounds like KatelanD... so I went with that and since the blog is about my life or i'd like to put it, my little world I thought in the Land of Kate sounded great! Ha, that rhymed.

Day 271: Introduction (Day 1)

Lately, my blog has been lacking something. And by something, I mean a little sumtin' sumtin' and that something is creativity. I'm like a broken record. All I do is talk about the same thing old thing over, and over and over (one more time?) and OVER again! So, how about a 30 day blog challenge to get the creativity juices flowing? I LOVE 30 day challenges, so why the hell not?
Who ever you are reading this, why don't you join me? The best part of doing these 30 day challenges isn't really about the challenge but seeing how it is for other people, or atleast that's my favorite part. So why don't you join me? I'll have a list at the bottom of the 30 day challenge list, but if you don't like that list you can always google more.

Day 270: Facebook deletion!?

I've decided against the HCG. Mainly because I don't want to just be skinny, but I want to be fit. Eating 500 calories a day is ridiculous and not being able to exercise isn't something I plan on doing. So eff that.

I just need to learn how to not eat so much and start eating better. Not eat out as much... quit fast food and eat a whole lot of veggies and fruits.

Also, lately I have just been in a super funk. Not sure why, but I'm in need for some type of change. Anything really, I just feel that it's something that I need.
I've also been contemplating whether or not to deactivate my facebook for a little while. Many people have said no, but I'm leaning more to do it.
I just feel like it waste so much time while I could be doing other things. Also, in a weird way it makes me feel like i'm not connecting with people like it's supposed to do. Pretty sure a networking site is supposed to make people closer, but for some reason I feel like i'm just fading away as each news feed is produced. Dumb, but that's how I feel.

Day 269: HCG DIET!

HCG Diet?! Should I try it?!

Mom has a bottle of HCG and has never even opened it. She was always worried it would mess up your hormones if you tried it, so she never tried it. After reading some about it, I decided that I want to try it.

Here's the deal though, you can only eat 500 calories a day. And you have to take drops constantly. I've had issues of over eating and I know this. I really think that this will help me regulate what I eat and help me eat less for in the future. But who knows?! I just need to try something! Because just exercising just isn't working!

Help me out if you know anything about it?

Day 268: Tired weight

I need to do a weight loss competition again. I've been working out lately, but I still eat a lot and I'm not pushing myself as I should.

Kelly, Kristy, dad? Anyone? I need your help.

So, yesterday I started that Mr. Maybe book and I just couldn't get into it. It's written in first person and typically thats my least favorite writing style. Maybe because that's how I always write?! Ha, probably.

Last night I slept like 12 hours, yet this morning when I got up I was super tired. I'm still super tired. How is that even possible?!
