Day 281: Has a painful experience ever had a positive impact in your life? (Day 11)

Of course. Isn't that usually how life goes? Something horrible happens, you learn from it and then something positive comes out of it.

I can think of many instances that have happened and have caused me so much pain I thought I was literally going to die. I thought, this is it, this is my lowest point so why even go on if I've officially hit bottom?

Well silly! Because from the bottom you can only go up! You can learn from your mistakes, become strong once your wound has healed and believe in yourself to never reach that low point again, thus realizing that there is more to life then this horrible incident and later know that this horrible thing impacted your life positively.

Pain is something that makes up life, just like so many other emotions. Like love, and happiness.

Day 280: Nicknames (Day 10)

Well, I've had a few in my lifetime like, Kat, Heppel, Kate, Katibear... things like that, but the one that is the absolute funniest is Crash.

I guess you can say that when I was younger I was a little clumsy. You know, tripping over my own feet constantly, easily dropping this or that, running into every corner I came by, even walking straight into a refrigerator. So I guess after a few tumbles and falls Crash became my nickname and it stuck for sometime.

:)

While ago I walked into the side of my couch a cut my knuckle... I guess things will never change.

Day 279: Something you miss (Day 9)

Can I talk about multiple things?

I miss my family
I miss living near all of my family, getting together in a big group on holidays and just being together, all squashed into one room talking about all our latest news or playing crap on your neighbor. I miss the nights full of lots of laughter, eating delicious food, singing karaoke and all being in one place. I've missed out on being able to just stop by my grandparents house to pop in and say hi. Or see my nieces grow up. Or share more weekends away at the Kelly's or getting coffee with Kristy.
I miss my dad.
I miss going with my dad and my brother and spending two weeks in Wisconsin, enjoying the dirty bay, skidooing, watching fireworks, playing cards and just simply hanging out with everyone.
I miss my grandma. I miss her a lot.

I miss my friends. I miss being a child and seeing the world in a different perspective. I miss the nights where I slept well. I miss not having to have so many responsibilities. I miss being in love. I miss that feeling you get when you read a book or see a movie for the first time. I miss going on vacation.

I don't just miss something, but a lot of little 'things.' I feel as though my list could go on forever, but I will spare you.

Day 278: Something you Regret that you DIDN'T do (Day 8)

I like to live my life with no regrets, only experiences gained, but sometimes that is hard to do.

It's mostly those little moments that build up, like those nasty, petty fights. Those hurtful words you can never take back but wish you could. But most of the times those things needed to happen, to prove a point, to make a statement, to change who you were and to learn and grow from it.

But looking back at my life, the only thing that I truly regret that I didn't do is not trying my hardest at everything that I should have.
Like school
and friendships
and putting myself out there more

Things like that.

Day 277: Goals (Day 7)

Well, at first I was going to write a list of my goals, like:
  • Graduate college
  • Find a job
  • Move out
  • Buy a car
  • lose weight
Etc. etc.

But after going to a movie today with my mom, I decided I wanted to make a different goal, something less self-serving. I watched 'The Help' today and while I was watching that (By the way is an excellent movie, and as soon as I can, I'm reading the book) I decided that I want to set a different goal for myself and that is to make a difference.

I want to be able to be that person to make a difference in someone's life for the better. I need to challenge myself and find that voice deep within and actually make a stand.

That's my goal.

Day 276: Something you're afraid of (Day 6)

Besides insects, tornadoes, my family being taken away from me and being murdered the most probable thing that I fear is being a failure. Although, I'm pretty sure failure is the highest on most peoples' list.

Being secure is something that I want and if I fail and I don't have that, then that's the scariest thing in the world. Even if I failed finically, I know I would have a family to help me out, but then that conflicts with the fact that I don't want to be dependent on anyone for much longer and if I fail that would happen.

Not only would my pride be bruised and wallet empty, but i'd have to deal with the fact that as hard as I worked, as much as I wanted it, whatever 'it' is, I failed myself and I'd have to live with that every day.

I'm so afraid one day I'll wake up and realize I'm a failure at life.

Day 275: A Place You've Traveled to (Day 5)

As you have read before, traveling is one of my favorite things to do. Whether that be by car or plane, I love traveling. I've been very fortunate to have been able to travel to all the places I have, but my absolute favorite place was when I went to Italy. Specifically Tivoli Villa d'este.

Out of all the places I had seen in Europe, out of all the places I have been to in the United States, this specific spot is one of my favorite places and I would go back in a heart beat. It's absolutely breath taking. The country side view, the fountains, the flowers, the sculptors, the way the sun shone through the sprinkles of water leaving beautiful rainbows and the people.

I've never really been big on the whole getting proposed to, but my god! This is where I'd want to be proposed to, or have my wedding!

(Although, not in front of this one) :)
